~ TOP TIPS RUBBER STAMPING ~ REPETITIVE STAMPING
~ What is repetitive stamping? Repetitive
stamping is when we need a series of images in either a
column or a row, or any other sequence. It may be that you are
creating a border at the top, bottom or down the side of a
page or a card. Each stamped image must be in line... the gap
between each stamping must be the same each time... the
stamped images must be the same all the way along the line,
how easy it is to have one twisted slightly that spoils the
overall project.
Spacing images across or down
a page A simple rule is don't rush into
it and spoil it. With a little thought and a little time you
can make what could be a bad job better, you can make a good
job excellent.
Take time to plan your project
and know what you are going to do before you start. Make sure
you have all the right materials and tools and have enough of
them, also make sure they are clean.
Stamping
repetively needs careful planning, if you do not plan it
correctly your created images could be like a line of soldiers
falling out or sequence dancers out of sequence. Remember
people you give your projects to will know what you have made
is 'hand-made' and will look at it more closely, you want them
to say... Wow have you made this it is great. They will be
pleased you will feel good and before long they will want you
to make other cards for them.
Measure your paper and
measure your stamps, carefully calculate the spaces
between each stamped image and the distance either end and
above and below. A little time now will make a good job better
and very professional looking.
It is amazing how
many people think they don't need to measure. If we ask a
machine to do a series of items in a line it will do it and
the result will be perfect. If we ask a human this does not
happen because we are not programmed to do it. We therefore
need to programme ourselves and the way we think. A random
design does not need to be measured but a repetitive one does.

when
stamping close to the side of your page make sure your
stamping block is parallel with the edge of the paper. You may
also find it helpful to position a ruler just beneath your
stamping area, if you do make sure the ruler is parallel also
and that it cannot move.
